About the Role

As a Project Manager, you will be overseeing the daily operations of one of our largest European projects. This is a multi-annual advisory project aimed at facilitating sustainability investments across Europe.
The project is composed of several sub-tasks and involves the management of an in-house core team as well as a large pool of external experts working remotely.
This is a high-profile assignment for a seasoned project manager with at least 10 years of experience. Managing this project will require around 50% of your time.
In the remaining time, you will support the Resilient Economies team in business development activities aimed primarily at the European Market. This includes activities such as proposal writing, methodology development, consortium formation, budget design. Proposals are largely focused on environmental protection and sustainability challenges and can include policy or programme evaluations, impact assessments, policy reviews, technical assistance projects and market studies.

Key tasks include:
• Daily project management, monitoring progress, ensuring project outputs are delivered in high quality and in a timely manner.
• Regular and frequent contact with our European Commission clients, providing accurate updates.
• Control the project budgets and timescale.
• Oversee teams of researchers and experts.
• Clearly and succinctly explain research and evaluation methodologies and types of analysis, justify conclusions, and present the project results to the target audience.
• Lead/contribute to high quality written outputs, presentations, and other deliverables.
• Undertake targeted business development activities and build relationships with clients to advance the company's profile.
• Collect, analyse, interpret, and present complex qualitative and quantitative data.
• Contribute to expanding our work, lead proposals for new work, and help us to grow the company's portfolio of projects.

Requirements

Ideally based in Rotterdam, Netherlands (We are open to European based candidates who can ensure frequent presence in our Rotterdam office)


  • Master’s degree in economics, environmental studies, European studies or related field.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in project management.

  • Experience in managing projects with a value of at least one million euros.

  • Strong business development and project acquisition skills with proven experience in winning European Commission projects.

  • Understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods, advisory projects and complex analysis is required. 

  • Financial acumen and client focus.

  • Fluency in English is a must. High level of Dutch is an advantage.
